About Us
|
Down Farm is a working farm on the South coast of Devon in an area
of outstanding natural beauty. The farm is also in an area of Special
Scientific Interest.
We keep a flock of approximately 400 sheep and a herd of Suckler cows
as well as poultry. Otherwise we grow seed potatoes, wheat, barley and
peas etc

The coastal footpath runs round the edge of the farm, and provides access to many outstanding coastal and countryside walks. About one mile from the farm is the famous Start Point lighthouse which is open to the public on most days. There are many delightful coves and beaches all along the coast - shingle beaches on the east side of Start Point , sandy beaches on the west. A short walk will take you down the valley to the secluded beach of Lannacombe Bay. The beauty of the surrounding farmland, coast and countryside, with its abundance of wild birds and wild flowers, cannot be overstated. |
